About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Class 2F Registered Building Inspector (RBI) to join our Building Control team on a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering professional building control services in line with the latest Building Safety Regulator (BSR) and Building Control Profession Register requirements.
Working as part of a reputable Registered Building Control Approver (RBCA), you will be responsible for assessing plans, undertaking site inspections, and ensuring compliance with building regulations across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake plan assessments and site inspections in accordance with current Building Regulations, BSR guidance, and internal quality management procedures.
Provide professional advice to clients, designers, and contractors to ensure compliance with statutory and technical requirements.
Manage a caseload of projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high standards of service.
Prepare and issue statutory documentation, inspection reports, and compliance certificates.
Liaise with fire authorities, structural engineers, and other stakeholders where required.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement and regulatory compliance within the organisation.
Mentor and support trainee or assistant inspectors where appropriate.
Essential Requirements
Registered with the Building Safety Regulator as a Class 2F Registered Building Inspector (RBI).
Proven experience in building control inspection across a range of project types and complexities.
Strong technical understanding of UK Building Regulations, Approved Documents, and associated legislation.
Excellent communication, organisational, and report-writing skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the assigned region.
Desirable
Experience working within an RBCA or local authority building control body.
Knowledge of the Building Safety Act and recent regulatory changes.
Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CABE, CIOB).
