About the Client:

Our client is a leading engineering and construction organisation delivering large-scale infrastructure and civil engineering projects across Belgium. Due to continued project growth, they are seeking an experienced Civil Construction Manager / Site Manager to oversee the successful execution of construction activities on-site.


Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Civil Construction Manager / Site Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of civil construction works from mobilisation through to project completion.

The successful candidate will ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards while coordinating multiple stakeholders, subcontractors, and site teams.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a major infrastructure programme and play a key role in the successful delivery of complex civil engineering projects.


Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all on-site civil construction activities from mobilisation through to project completion.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and site personnel.
• Monitor project progress against programme schedules and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and progress review meetings with project stakeholders.
• Review technical drawings, specifications, method statements, and construction plans.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and construction issues.
• Oversee QA/QC processes and ensure works are completed to the required standards.
• Prepare and present project progress reports to senior management and clients.
• Liaise with clients, engineers, consultants, local authorities, and regulatory bodies.
• Manage variations, change orders, and support contract administration activities.
• Drive efficient site operations and ensure effective construction sequencing and logistics planning.


Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum 8 years’ experience delivering civil construction or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience as a Construction Manager, Site Manager, or Civil Project Manager.
• Strong experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary construction teams.
• Excellent understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and site logistics.
• Experience delivering one or more of the following project types:

  • Roads and highways

  • Bridges

  • Utilities

  • Concrete structures

  • Earthworks

  • Tunnelling

  • Marine works
    • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively within fast-paced and complex construction environments.
    • Fluent English is required; Dutch or French is considered advantageous.


Technical Skills:

• Project planning and scheduling.
• Budget management and cost control.
• Contract administration and contract management.
• Risk management and mitigation.
• QA/QC procedures and quality assurance standards.
• Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) compliance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Excel.


Preferred Certifications:

• PMP or PRINCE2 Certification.
• VCA / SCC Certification.
• NEBOSH or IOSH Certification.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

Duration: 6–12 Months+ (Extension Possible)

Rate: Competitive Daily Rate (DOE)
