About the Role
An established multidisciplinary planning and development consultancy based in Dublin is seeking an Assistant Town Planner to join its growing planning team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to gain hands-on experience across a broad range of residential, commercial, infrastructure, and mixed-use development projects throughout Ireland.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior planners, architects, and technical consultants, supporting the preparation and management of planning applications, appeals, and policy research.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications and supporting documentation
- Conduct planning policy research and site appraisals
- Prepare planning reports, statements, and correspondence
- Liaise with local authorities, consultants, and project stakeholders
- Support project teams in managing timelines and planning compliance requirements
- Attend client meetings, consultations, and site visits where required
- Monitor planning decisions, legislation, and policy updates relevant to ongoing projects
Requirements
- Degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related discipline
- Working towards or eligible for membership with the relevant professional planning institute is desirable
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational and analytical abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Full clean driving licence desirable but not essential
