Location: Manchester
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

The Opportunity
I’m working with a highly regarded national planning and development consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced Associate to join its established Manchester team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planning professional looking to take the next step in their career within a leading planning and development consultancy.
You’ll take responsibility for a range of interesting and complex projects, develop strong client relationships and play an important role in supporting the continued growth of the Manchester team, while working collaboratively with colleagues across a wider national network.
The Role
As an Associate, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality planning advice to a range of private and public sector clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading and managing planning projects from inception through to delivery.
Providing strategic planning advice across a broad range of development sectors.
Managing and developing strong relationships with existing clients.
Supporting business development and identifying new opportunities.
Preparing and presenting planning strategies, reports and submissions.
Managing planning applications, appeals, consultations and negotiations with local authorities and other stakeholders.
Acting as a key point of contact for clients and providing commercially focused planning advice.
Coordinating project teams and working closely with colleagues and external consultants.
Supporting and mentoring junior planners.
Contributing to the continued growth and profile of the Manchester office.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider national business.
About You
We are looking for an experienced planning professional with a strong track record within the private sector.
You will ideally have:
MRTPI or equivalent professional qualification, or be working towards chartership.
Strong experience within a planning consultancy, developer or related private-sector environment.
Good knowledge of the UK planning system and development management.
Experience managing planning projects and client relationships.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to provide commercially focused planning advice.
Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
A proactive approach to business development and networking.
The ability to mentor and support more junior colleagues.
The confidence to operate at Associate level with clients, stakeholders and colleagues.
Candidates with experience across residential, strategic land, mixed-use, commercial, retail, regeneration or other major development projects are encouraged to apply.
