AR/GL Accountant – 9-Month Contract

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced AR/GL Accountant to join the finance team on a 9-month contract. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with solid accounting experience who can work independently and contribute across Accounts Receivable, General Ledger and wider finance administration.

The successful candidate will also play an important role in supporting the team during the implementation of a new finance system, providing practical feedback during testing and helping ensure the system works effectively for the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the finance team with Accounts Receivable and General Ledger activities.
• Provide wider support across finance administration and day-to-day accounting tasks.
• Act as a back-up for the Accounts Receivable function in France.
• Support with invoicing, including processing and follow-up.
• Work closely with the wider finance team to ensure accurate and timely accounting processes.
• Support the implementation of a new finance system, including system testing and providing feedback on functionality and processes.
• Help identify issues and suggest improvements during the implementation phase.
• Work collaboratively with senior finance stakeholders and other teams as required.

About You

• Proven experience in an AR/GL Accountant or similar accounting role.
• This is not a junior position; strong hands-on accounting experience is required.
• Comfortable working across both Accounts Receivable and General Ledger.
• Good understanding of finance processes and administration.
• IT-minded and comfortable working with finance systems and new technology.
• Experience with, or a willingness to contribute to, system implementation and testing.
• Fluent in French and English.
• Able to work independently while also being a strong team player.
• Available to work 4 days per week onsite in Brussels, with 1 day remote.

Interview Process

The process will involve three interviews with key stakeholders, including the CFO, Chief Accountant and VP Finance, who will have the final decision-making responsibility.
