Work Preparator – Refinery Maintenance & Turnarounds
Location
Leuna Refinery, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany

Role Purpose
Prepare and coordinate all maintenance and turnaround work packages for the Leuna refinery to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant execution. Acts as the key interface between Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Procurement, and HSE.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work Scoping & Planning
    • Convert notifications into detailed work scopes with method statements and resource requirements.
    • Perform field walkdowns to verify isolation points, scaffolding needs, and job hazards.
  • Job Pack Preparation
    • Create complete job packs including drawings, permits, QC hold points, and safety documentation.
    • Define LOTO plans, blind lists, and isolation procedures in line with refinery standards.
    • Materials & Services Coordination
      • Identify and requisition spares, consumables, and special tools.
      • Coordinate third-party services (scaffolding, insulation, machining, NDE).
      • Quality & Documentation
        • Define QA/QC checkpoints and inspection plans per API/ASME standards.
        • Capture as-built updates and feedback for CMMS closeout.

          Qualifications

          • Technical degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
          • 3–7 years in refinery or petrochemical maintenance planning.
          • Strong communication skills in German and English
