Visiting Officer – Homelessness Service
Location: West London
Contract: 6 months
Working Pattern: Hybrid – Office & Client Visits (4 days per week on site)

We are currently supporting a local authority in West London that is looking to appoint an experienced Visiting Officer to join their Homelessness Service on a 6-month contract.

This role is heavily focused on office-based working and face-to-face client visits, supporting the wider homelessness team with assessments, accommodation checks, and applicant engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out home visits, accommodation visits, and client appointments

  • Supporting homelessness officers with interviews, evidence gathering, and case progression

  • Undertaking welfare checks and tenancy sustainment visits where required

  • Attending the office regularly to manage appointments, update case notes, and liaise with colleagues

  • Maintaining accurate records in line with homelessness legislation and internal procedures

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a visiting, housing, or homelessness-focused role

  • Comfortable with regular client-facing work and property visits

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload

  • Confident communicator, both in person and in writing

Working Arrangements:

  • Minimum 3 days per week office-bas and visit based – likely 4

  • Hybrid working with a strong on-site and field-based focus

This role would suit someone who enjoys front-line, face-to-face work and is looking for a short-term contract within a busy homelessness service.
