We are a leading transport and infrastructure consultancy based in London, working at the forefront of urban development and sustainable mobility. Our clients span the private and public sectors, and we support projects across residential, commercial, mixed-use, logistics, and strategic land developments.

We are looking to recruit a Transport Planner with a focus on development planning to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with 2-5 years of consultancy experience who is keen to take on more responsibility and work on a diverse range of planning and development projects across London and the Southeast.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare Transport Assessments (TAs), Transport Statements (TSs), and Travel Plans to support planning applications for private sector clients.

  • Conduct access and servicing appraisals, including site visits and feasibility assessments for development sites.

  • Undertake junction capacity assessments using software such as Junctions 9 (ARCADY/PICADY) and LINSIG.

  • Prepare and analyse trip generation and distribution assessments using TRICS and Census data.

  • Assist in the preparation of pre-application advice, design team input, and planning submission documentation.

  • Advise on site layout and masterplanning from a transport and highways perspective.

  • Liaise with project teams, clients, architects, and local highway authorities throughout the planning process.

  • Support senior team members in client meetings, stakeholder engagement, and project management tasks.


Key Requirements

  • Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related discipline.

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in transport planning within a UK-based consultancy.

  • Proven experience producing planning-support documentation for development projects.

  • Proficiency in Junctions 9, LINSIG, AutoCAD, TRICS, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Knowledge of the UK planning system and the role of transport in development planning.

  • Strong report writing, communication, and analytical skills.

  • Confidence in engaging with clients and multidisciplinary project teams.

  • Working towards or holding professional membership (e.g., CIHT, TPS, ICE) is desirable.


Desirable Experience

  • Familiarity with active travel and sustainable transport principles in the context of planning.

  • Experience in swept path analysis using tools such as AutoTrack or Vehicle Tracking.

  • Exposure to GIS or micro-simulation modelling (e.g., VISSIM) is a plus.
