A leading consultancy is seeking a Transport Planner with strong development planning experience to join its growing London-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for a transport professional who enjoys working on development-led projects and wants to be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
The Role
The successful candidate will support and lead on a wide range of projects across the residential, commercial, and mixed-use sectors. From early-stage feasibility and site access assessments through to Transport Assessments and Travel Plans, the role offers exposure to all aspects of transport input within the planning and development process.
Responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and reviewing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and Access Strategies
- Supporting planning applications for a wide range of development types
- Conducting site visits, data collection, and junction assessments
- Engaging with clients, local authorities, and design teams
- Managing or mentoring junior staff, depending on experience
- Contributing to business development and proposal writing
About the Candidate
- Degree qualified in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or related field
- Previous experience in a transport or development planning role (typically 2+ years)
- Solid understanding of the planning system and transport policy in the UK
- Experience with junction modelling tools (e.g. Junctions 9, LINSIG) and data analysis
- Strong report writing, communication, and presentation skills
- Based in or able to commute to London, with flexibility for hybrid working
