We are working with a well-established and forward-thinking multidisciplinary consultancy based in London, specialising in supporting residential, mixed-use, and commercial developments across the capital and the wider UK. With a strong pipeline of development-led projects, the business is continuing to grow and is now seeking a Transport Planner with development planning experience to join its expanding team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a transport planning professional to work on high-profile developments and play a key role in shaping sustainable transport solutions in London.
The Role:
As a Transport Planner, you will support and manage the transport planning elements of development projects, working closely with planning, engineering, and design teams. You will be involved in preparing transport assessments and travel plans, supporting planning applications, and liaising with local authorities and stakeholders.
The role offers exposure to a wide range of residential and mixed-use developments, with clear opportunities for professional development and progression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans to support planning applications.
- Support the transport input into residential, mixed-use, and commercial development projects.
- Undertake junction capacity assessments and interpret traffic and transport data.
- Coordinate with internal teams, architects, and external consultants to ensure compliant and deliverable transport solutions.
- Support responses to planning conditions and transport-related planning queries.
- Assist in developing sustainable transport strategies that align with local and national policy.
About You:
We are looking for a motivated Transport Planning professional with:
- A degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related discipline.
- Experience working on development planning projects within the UK, ideally in London.
- A good understanding of the UK planning system and transport policy, including TfL guidance.
- Experience preparing or contributing to Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and technical notes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Working towards or holding professional membership (e.g. CIHT, TPS, or ICE) is desirable.
