Freelance Technical Project Manager – Industrial Transformation & Decarbonization

Role Overview
A major industrial operator in the construction materials sector is launching a significant modernization and decarbonization program. As a freelance Technical Project Manager, you will help coordinate engineering activities, prepare investment documentation, and steer the technical alignment across several critical project streams.
This mission sits at the intersection of large-scale civil works, industrial process upgrades, and emerging decarbonization technologies.
Your Responsibilities
- Coordinate RFQs for key infrastructure packages such as process utilities, distribution lines, and metering systems.
- Serve as the technical interface between various engineering disciplines to ensure full alignment across all packages.
- Review FEED-level engineering, identify gaps, and help shape commissioning and performance testing strategies.
- Prepare the technical sections of the Investment Decision dossier, ensuring consistency between engineering outputs, budget assumptions, and decision-making criteria.
- Support technical negotiations with suppliers for major equipment and process upgrades, including performance guarantees and contractual clarity.
Your Profile
You bring:
- Demonstrated experience with complex industrial projects, ideally including:
- Civil engineering works (foundations, structures, utilities)
- Industrial process upgrades or new production lines
- Projects involving decarbonization, emissions reduction, energy transition, or “first‑of‑its‑kind” technologies
- A broad multidisciplinary engineering understanding covering civil, mechanical, E&I, automation, and steel structures.
- The ability to switch effortlessly between technical deep-dives and business-oriented discussions (budgeting, contingencies, risk).
- Strong writing and documentation skills for clear, decision-ready technical proposals.
- A collaborative approach, enabling smooth coordination with engineers, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
Languages: Fluency in French and English.
Dutch is a plus for interactions with regional partners.
