Technical Engineer (Maintenance | Automated Food Production)
Location: Brussels Region, Belgium
Contract: 6-month contract (with strong possibility of extension)

Role Overview
We are currently looking for a Technical Engineer to support the maintenance and reliability of a highly automated food production facility located in the Brussels region.
In this role, you will be responsible for the technical performance of production installations, leading a maintenance team and ensuring optimal operation of automated systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate a maintenance team of approximately 15 technicians
- Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of production equipment
- Manage preventive and corrective maintenance activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, and automation-related issues
- Support and optimize automation systems (PLC, SCADA, HMI)
- Coordinate interventions during breakdowns and planned shutdowns
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and food industry standards
- Work closely with production, engineering, and external service providers
- Identify improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce downtime
Required Experience & Skills
- Experience in technical maintenance within an industrial or food production environment
- Strong knowledge of:
- Electrical systems
- Mechanical components
- Automation (PLC, SCADA, HMI)
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate technical teams
- Hands-on, solution-oriented mindset
- Comfortable working in a 24/7 production environment
