Part-Time Structural Engineer (Freelance, Germany – Remote)
We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer (Civil Engineer) to join us on a part-time, freelance basis to support the development of an innovative modular building system tailored to the German market.
This is a long-term engagement, focused on product development, compliance, and approval strategy—not a project-specific role. You will work closely with our internal engineering team to ensure our system aligns with German regulations and industry practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on German structural design requirements, standards, and approval procedures (Eurocodes and National Annexes)
- Support the development of a standardised modular structural system in compliance with German regulations
- Prepare and/or review structural design documentation in accordance with German requirements
- Conduct independent technical reviews of structural concepts and documentation (peer-review level)
- Provide guidance on approval pathways in Germany, particularly for non-standard or modular construction systems (including special approvals)
- Advise on documentation structure and submission requirements for authorities and peer reviewers
Key Requirements
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Fluent German (written and spoken) – essential
- Strong knowledge of German structural engineering standards and approval processes
- Experience working with modular or prefabricated systems (highly preferred)
- Experience with approval of non-standard structures in Germany (highly desirable)
- Knowledge of seismic design (advantageous)
- Ability to sign structural documentation for German authorities (advantageous, not required)

- Commitment: 1–2 days per week (8–16 hours)
