Vivid’s Local Authority client in the South West are searching for an experienced interim Strategic Commissioning Manager to work with the council to lead older adult commissioning teams within the adults commissioning service until a permanent member of staff is recruited.
The role will support and implement the new commissioning strategy across the services as well as overseeing day-to-day activity across the teams.
Overview
Experience and knowledge of commissioning and contracting for these services is essential in order to lead the teams that contract for, quality assess and pay invoices for service provision.
The teams include care homes, home care, extra care housing, voluntary sector, and brokerage.
The teams use Mosaic and are implementing the Provider Portal module, they are also implementing PAMMS. Knowledge of these systems would be helpful.
Line management essential, the position currently manages a team of 35 to 40 permanent and temporary staff including 5 Commissioning Managers as direct reports.
You will oversee a breadth of commissioning activity that includes working with adult social care operational service managers, public health colleagues, housing colleagues, BNSSG CCG and other LA commissioners, to ensure the Council is using all resources available from the private, public and voluntary sector to meet its statutory and non-statutory duties.
You provide commissioning management and support at a senior level for a defined set of services by delivering proactive advice, you will plan and develop service and business activities to achieve corporate and departmental objectives.
You work with the Service Manager to undertake a key role in implementing market development strategy through developing and delivering commissioned services to meet the defined outcomes, and to take account of interdependencies with and impact on other relevant services.
