About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Layer 2 Senior Network Engineer to join our team and support enterprise-level network infrastructure operations. This is an on-site position requiring hands-on experience with LAN/WAN/WLAN technologies, routing and switching, and Palo Alto firewall administration within a Cisco-based environment.
You’ll play a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing our enterprise network across multiple sites, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly technical environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain Layer 2 and Layer 3 network infrastructure in a Cisco enterprise environment.
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN connectivity.
- Manage and support Palo Alto firewalls (policies, NAT, VPN, routing).
- Maintain and administer Cisco and Meraki switches, routers, and wireless controllers.
- Provide Aruba and Cisco wireless administration, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to resolve complex network issues.
- Support site network deployments, upgrades, and migrations as needed.
- Perform network performance monitoring, capacity planning, and documentation.
- Assist with network segmentation, VLANs, and Layer 2 optimization (STP, EtherChannel, etc.).
- (Optional) Support integration with cloud environments (AWS/Azure) as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on enterprise network engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN/WLAN technologies and IP-based network infrastructure.
- Proficiency with Cisco routing and switching technologies (Catalyst, Nexus, Meraki).
- Experience with Aruba and Meraki wireless solutions.
- Practical experience configuring and managing Palo Alto firewalls.
- Familiarity with SD-WAN technologies and configurations.
- Deep understanding of Layer 2 protocols (VLANs, STP, trunking, link aggregation).
- Solid understanding of network security best practices and firewall policies.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, PCNSE, or CWNA.
- Experience supporting enterprise multi-site environments.
