Senior Software Engineer 

Location: Onsite, 5 days per week (Belgium)

About the Role

Our client are seeking an experienced Software Engineer working with Typescript Node and Vue to join the team on a payroll basis. This is a high-impact position with significant responsibility across our software systems, infrastructure, and upcoming renovation/migration projects. You will play a crucial role in maintaining, improving, and rebuilding core components of our technology stack — including the software that powers our crane systems.

This position requires a proactive, hands-on engineer who is comfortable working closely with technical and operational stakeholders and who thrives in an environment where reliability and performance are critical.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the IT Manager to support day-to-day operations and long-term technical strategy.
• Take ownership of high-impact projects, including:
  • Software development and maintenance
  • Infrastructure support and improvements
  • Software renovation and migration initiatives
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve software and infrastructure issues to ensure operational continuity.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of technical solutions that enhance system performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver robust, maintainable software.

Requirements

• Fluency in Dutch (spoken and written) – essential.
• Onsite availability 5 days per week – required for the nature of the work.
• Several years of professional experience as a software engineer
• Strong background in software development with the ability to work on both existing systems and greenfield improvements.
• Experience with infrastructure components (servers, networks, system integrations, etc.).
• Proven ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality technical solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in software migration or legacy system modernisation.
• Experience with Java
