Social Care Accountant

• Role – Accountant

• Hours of work: 35 hours per week

• Timescale of appointment: 5 months (until 31st July 2026)

• Maximum Hourly Rate budget can support – £42.5p/h

• The postholder must be a CCAB qualified professional accountant (part-qualified candidates won’t be considered) with local government experience.

• The postholder will work as part of a team of qualified and non-qualified staff supporting the Social Work Department.

• The postholder will primarily provide accounting and budgeting support to Children and Families Social Work and Criminal Justice Services.

• The post is suitable for home working, and all necessary IT equipment will be provided by the Council.

• The postholder will not be expected to travel to the council and will engage with all colleagues remotely using MS Teams etc.

• Working hours are expected to be Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 however there may be some limited flexibility for a strong candidate.

• The postholder must have excellent numerical, analytical and communication skills and must be able to work efficiently and effectively on their own as well as part of a team.
