We are seeking two experienced Site Managers to support the delivery of 50MW Solar PV plant projects located in Shropshire and Exeter. This is a 10-month self-employed contract, starting Monday 2nd March 2026, operating outside IR35.

The successful candidates will take full responsibility for on-site management, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.


Role Details

  • Projects: 50MW Solar PV Plants

  • Locations: Shropshire and Exeter

  • Working Pattern: 6 days per week (Monday–Saturday)


Contract & Commercial Information

  • Contract Type: Self-Employed

  • Engagement Options: UK Ltd, CIS, or Umbrella

  • IR35 Status: Outside IR35

  • Rate: Negotiable

    • Candidates are required to submit a proposed all-inclusive day rate

    • No travel or accommodation will be provided by the client


Key Responsibilities

  • Overall day-to-day management of site activities on a large-scale PV project

  • Coordination and supervision of subcontractors and site teams

  • Ensuring works are delivered in line with programme, budget, and quality expectations

  • Enforcing site health & safety standards and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation

  • Conducting toolbox talks, site inductions, and safety briefings

  • Liaising with project management, client representatives, and other stakeholders

  • Managing site reporting, progress updates, and documentation

  • Identifying and resolving site issues efficiently to avoid delays

  • Ensuring works are completed to specification and ready for handover


Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering Solar PV projects, ideally utility-scale

  • Strong site management and leadership capability

  • Thorough understanding of health & safety requirements on construction sites

  • Right to work in the UK (UK passport holder or UK resident)

  • Availability to start in March 2026

  • Ability to commit to a Monday–Saturday working pattern


Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experience on large-scale renewable energy or energy infrastructure projects

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced site environment
