our Role:

This is an outstanding opportunity for a strategic leader who will champion the educational, attainment, attendance, and progress of children with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND). This role is situated within an Education Service and focuses on ensuring compliance with statutory obligations related to SEND, as well as leading the development of a comprehensive strategy in collaboration with families and partners. The organisation has a strong track record of creatively supporting the needs of children, with plans to expand these services further.

The organisation is committed to improving its approaches, always with the best interests of children and families at the forefront. In this senior role, you will be responsible for enhancing partnerships with council leaders, educational settings, and families, while contributing to strategic priorities.

You will bring extensive senior-level experience and a genuine passion for improving the way children and families are supported, ensuring their perspectives are integral to decision-making. As a strategic thinker with expertise in the field, you must possess a deep understanding of local authority responsibilities and processes related to SEND, as well as a comprehensive knowledge of the current and future landscape in this domain, both nationally and locally.
