Our diverse client base ranges from major developers and landowners to local authorities and public sector organisations.
As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior or Principal Town Planner to join our team. You will play a key role in delivering planning advice, leading projects, mentoring junior staff, and helping grow client relationships.
🔍 Key Responsibilities
Lead complex planning applications, appeals, site appraisals, and development strategies across multiple sectors
Manage projects from inception to delivery, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met
Provide expert planning advice to clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams
Contribute to business development by maintaining and growing client relationships
Review and prepare reports, including planning statements, design and access statements, and EIA submissions
Represent clients at planning committees, hearings, and public consultations
Support and mentor junior team members, contributing to team development and knowledge sharing
Keep up to date with changes in planning legislation, policy, and local authority practices
✅ Candidate Requirements
RTPI-accredited degree and MRTPI chartership (essential)
Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a planning consultancy, local authority, or developer environment
Proven track record managing planning applications and leading client relationships
Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and current policy landscape
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Commercially astute, with the ability to manage budgets and spot new opportunities
Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
