Job Description

My Local authority client based in South West England are looking for 3 interim Senior Transport Planning Officers to join their team on an initial 6 month basis, with the likelihood of an extension. Initially you would likely have to visit the office/site once a fortnight. However this can be flexed slightly, up to once a month in the future.

1. Senior Transport Planning Officer
To progress all revenue work areas including service improvement, design and procurement of new services, design and delivery of fares packages, improved ticketing systems, back offices and Dynamic Demand Responsive Transport, bus information and data analysis and reporting. This role is key to delivery of new responsibilities under the Enhanced Partnership, BSIP grant and Passenger Charter. You will regularly liaise with partners (operators and WECA) and the DfT. This post is to be based within the Public Transport team but operate as part of the “Public Transport Joint Delivery Unit” with WECA officers, working seamlessly as a single service.

2. Senior Transport Planning Officer (Data and Analysis)
To progress project data collection, analysis, and reporting as part of the new responsibilities under the BSIP grant, Enhanced Partnership and Passenger Charter and to enable scheme development and monitoring. This post will liaise with partners including bus operators, WECA and DfT. This post is to be based within the existing transport data and reporting team (within Policy and Development Management) but will be focussed on BSIP and public transport.

3. Senior Transport Planning Officer (First and Last Mile)
This role will lead the development and engagement around transport hubs and interchanges, first and last mile connections to public transport and ensure we coordinate with the WECA Future Transport Zone MaaS and Mobility Hub projects. This workstream links directly with the Active Travel Strategy delivery plans and micro-mobility projects that focus on extending the reach of the public transport offer into our areas’ rural communities. Subject to ongoing discussions with DfT on the final settlement the Mobility Hub/Interchange package is estimated in value at between £6-12M for NSC. This role will be based within the Sustainable and Active Travel Team but focussed on BSIP and public transport integration workstreams.
