We are working with a well-established and forward-thinking transport consultancy based in London, with a strong track record of delivering transport planning and development infrastructure advice across the capital and the wider South East. The consultancy works on a diverse portfolio of high-profile residential, mixed-use, commercial, and regeneration schemes, ranging from small infill developments to major strategic sites.
Due to a sustained pipeline of development-led work across London boroughs, the consultancy is seeking to appoint a Senior Transport Planner with strong development planning experience to join its growing team.

The Role:
As a Senior Transport Planner, you will play a key role in leading and supporting the transport planning elements of development projects, from early feasibility and pre-application stages through to planning submission and approval.
You will work closely with developers, planning consultants, local planning authorities, Transport for London (TfL), and highway authorities, providing clear, robust, and commercially focused transport advice to support successful planning outcomes in a London context.
The role offers strong technical exposure, regular client interaction, and clear opportunities for career progression.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Delivery & Servicing Plans, and technical notes to support planning applications.
Provide transport planning advice at feasibility, pre-application, and application stages for development projects across London.
Undertake and review junction capacity assessments and traffic modelling outputs.
Support negotiations relating to planning conditions, S106 agreements, and highway and transport mitigation measures.
Coordinate with planners, engineers, and other technical specialists within multidisciplinary teams.
Manage project inputs, budgets, and deadlines effectively.
Maintain a strong understanding of the London Plan, local transport policy, and national planning guidance.
About You:
We are seeking a transport planning professional with:
A degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related discipline.
Experience working on UK development planning projects, ideally within a London consultancy or local authority environment.
A strong understanding of the UK planning system and transport evidence requirements, particularly in a London context.
Experience preparing Transport Assessments and engaging with boroughs and TfL.
Knowledge of junction modelling software (e.g. Junctions 9, LinSig, VISSIM – desirable but not essential).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to manage projects and build strong client relationships.
A proactive, commercially aware, and solutions-driven approach.
