As a Senior Planning Officer, you will play a key role in shaping the future of Winchester and the surrounding district. You will manage a diverse and challenging caseload of planning applications, from small-scale developments to complex major projects. You’ll provide expert advice, lead on negotiations, and ensure timely and high-quality decision-making that aligns with local and national policy objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead on the assessment and determination of complex planning applications and pre-application enquiries
Provide professional advice to elected members, applicants, agents, and the public
Represent the council at planning committee, appeals, hearings, and public inquiries
Support and mentor junior officers, sharing expertise and promoting continuous improvement
Contribute to policy development and the preparation of planning guidance
