About the Role
We are looking for a Planner or Senior Planner to join our Manchester office. The role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of development projects, including residential, commercial, mixed-use, and regeneration schemes. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality planning advice, working closely with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Planner / Senior Planner responsibilities include:
Providing planning advice on a diverse range of development projects
Preparing, reviewing, and managing planning applications, appeals, and supporting documents
Conducting site appraisals, planning research, and policy analysis
Drafting Planning Statements, Design and Access Statements, and other technical reports
Liaising with local planning authorities, statutory consultees, and other stakeholders
Supporting or leading project teams to ensure timely and commercially focused outcomes
Keeping up-to-date with changes in planning policy and legislation
Additional responsibilities at Senior Planner level:
Leading smaller projects or client accounts with limited supervision
Taking ownership of planning applications and appeals, including strategy development
Mentoring junior team members
Contributing to business development and client relationship management
Candidate Profile
Essential:
Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
Working towards (Planner) or holding (Senior Planner) MRTPI membership
Relevant experience within a planning consultancy, local authority, or similar environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good understanding of the UK planning system and planning policy
Ability to manage workloads effectively and work collaboratively in a team
Desirable:
Experience with planning projects in the North West or wider North of England
Appeal experience or involvement in major development schemes
Confident in client-facing situations
