The Role

As a Senior Town Planner, you will:

  • Prepare and submit planning applications, planning statements and supporting documentation.
  • Provide strategic planning advice to developers, landowners, investors and housebuilders.
  • Lead pre-application discussions with Local Planning Authorities and statutory consultees.
  • Undertake planning appraisals and identify development opportunities and constraints.
  • Manage planning appeals where required.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams to deliver projects efficiently.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the planning team.
  • Assist Directors with business development opportunities and help shape the continued growth of the business.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • MRTPI Chartered status.
  • Around 4-8 years’ planning experience within a private consultancy or developer.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system.
  • Experience managing planning applications independently.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and client management skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach.
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred).

Experience across residential development, strategic land, regeneration or mixed-use projects would be advantageous.

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary.
  • Annual performance bonus.
  • Hybrid working.
  • Clear progression opportunities as the business continues to grow.
  • The opportunity to be part of an exciting expansion into Manchester City Centre and Leeds.
  • Ongoing CPD and support towards continued professional development.
  • Exposure to high-profile residential and mixed-use developments.
  • Supportive and collaborative team culture.
  • Pension scheme.
  • Generous annual leave allowance.
  • Regular team socials and networking events.
