The ideal candidate will be a solid mid-to-senior level engineer – experienced enough to operate independently, yet comfortable taking on both strategic and day-to-day operational tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze network traffic and security logs to identify anomalies, performance issues, or potential threats.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts, incident response, and rule/policy updates.
  • Contribute to documentation, process improvements, and configuration best practices.
  • Ensure ongoing system reliability, stability, and compliance with security standards.

Qualifications

  • 3–6+ years of professional experience in network or security engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) and Firepower Management Center (FMC).
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs, etc.).
  • Experience with traffic analysis, log review, and performance tuning.
  • Comfortable working independently in a flexible, part-time engagement.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Cisco certifications such as CCNP Security or CCNA Security.
  • Experience with other Cisco security technologies (ASA, ISE, AMP, etc.).
  • Familiarity with automation or scripting for network management (Python, REST APIs).
  • Background in security monitoring, SIEM tools, or compliance frameworks.

Engagement Details

  • Part-time contract (10–20 hours/week)
  • Estimated duration: 6 months
  • Flexible scheduling, remote-friendly
  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience
