About the position
This role sits at the heart of a large legal organisation that is investing heavily in technology and digital evolution. As a Senior IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for guiding complex IT and transformation initiatives from idea through to successful adoption.
You will operate at the intersection of technology, finance and the business, providing direction, transparency and momentum. This is a role for someone who enjoys responsibility, understands the pressures of a demanding stakeholder landscape, and brings calm structure to complex change.
You will be trusted to lead, challenge where needed, and turn strategy into tangible results – helping the organisation modernise its systems, processes and ways of working – implementing new Ai features.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will be accountable for the successful delivery of multiple technology-driven initiatives. Your scope will include:
- Owning the full lifecycle of IT and digital programmes, from early definition through implementation and transition to operations
- Acting as a central coordination point between internal teams, senior stakeholders and external partners
- Maintaining control over scope, timelines, costs and risks, with a strong focus on predictability and delivery quality
- Establishing and maintaining clear governance structures, including planning, reporting, escalation paths and steering forums
- Helping stakeholders articulate business needs and converting them into clear, actionable requirements
- Managing delivery teams and suppliers to ensure readiness, continuity and minimal disruption
- Spotting inefficiencies or delivery constraints and introducing practical improvements
- Raising the bar on project discipline, communication and delivery maturity across the organisation
What we’re looking for
You are a seasoned project or programme manager who combines decisiveness with diplomacy. You’re comfortable operating in complex organisations and know how to keep progress moving while managing expectations.
You bring:
- At least 7 years’ experience leading IT or technology-enabled change initiatives
- A strong track record in governance, delivery assurance, stakeholder communication and reporting
- Experience managing budgets, timelines, dependencies and third-party vendors
- The ability to apply structure without becoming rigid — pragmatic, not bureaucratic
- Fluency in both Dutch and English
- A strong sense of ownership, reliability and quality
Advantageous experience
- Background in legal, advisory or other professional services environments
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven sectors
- Involvement in large-scale digital transformation or process improvement programmes
- Knowledge of IT operations, service management or handover to run teams
