We are supporting an innovative hardware engineering client who is looking to hire a Senior Hardware Product Owner to lead their hardware team and drive the translation of system-level requirements into robust, production-ready hardware solutions.
This is a senior leadership role combining technical depth, product ownership, and cross-functional coordination. You will act as the key interface between hardware engineering, software, mechanical teams, and commercial stakeholders such as sales.
The role requires four days per week on-site and is ideally suited to someone with a strong background in hardware development, EMC, and Scrum-based product delivery.
Role Overview
As Senior Hardware Product Owner, you will lead the hardware team, make technical and architectural decisions, and own the hardware roadmap. You will be responsible for translating system and customer requirements into clear hardware specifications while ensuring alignment across engineering disciplines and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Act as Product Owner and team lead for the hardware engineering team
• Translate system and customer requirements into hardware requirements and architectures
• Serve as the main point of contact between hardware engineering and sales
• Lead hardware design, validation, and testing activities
• Drive EMC testing activities and compliance strategies
• Work within Scrum ways of working, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams
• Ensure effective interaction between mechanical, hardware, and software teams
• Support decision-making related to design trade-offs, risks, and priorities
Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in hardware engineering roles
• Proven experience working as a Product Owner or technical lead within Scrum teams
• Strong background in hardware design and testing
• Proven experience with EMC testing and compliance
• Experience working in interdisciplinary teams (mechanical, software, hardware)
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder management experience
Nice to Have
• Automotive industry background
• Experience with CISPR standards for automotive EMC
• Experience with mass-production products or consumer electronics
• Familiarity with requirement management tools such as Polarion
• Dutch language skills (not mandatory)
