Role Overview
A leading telecom company in Brussels is looking for a Network Security Engineer to support a growing pipeline of long-term customer projects. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of network and security implementations, from design to configuration, deployment and hypercare.
This role is highly hands-on and technical, with a strong emphasis on advanced networking, next-generation firewalling, and Extreme Networks infrastructures. It does not include security governance or GRC responsibilities.
You will operate mostly on client sites throughout Belgium, with Brussels as your main hub.
Key Responsibilities
You will be accountable for delivering high-quality networking and security services to enterprise customers. Your responsibilities include designing and implementing complex network environments, configuring next-gen firewalls, performing assessments, resolving incidents, and providing post-deployment support.
You will work with technologies such as Palo Alto Networks (NGFW & Prisma Access), Extreme Networks switching, and standard enterprise routing and switching platforms. You ensure smooth delivery from initial design up to hypercare after installation.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on expertise in enterprise networking (routing & switching)
- Proven experience with Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls
- Experience with Palo Alto Prisma Access is a bonus.
- Solid knowledge of Extreme Networks solutions (switching, fabric, management, configuration)
- Ability to lead full end-to-end implementations
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Excellent ownership mindset and accountability for network perimeters
- Medior to senior level (scope leans medior, but requires senior autonomy)

- Duration: Minimum 12 months (likely extension given project volume)
- Start: Mid-January preferred, latest end of February
- Location split: ~20% at Brussels HQ, ~80% on client sites across Belgium
- Work policy: 3 days on-site, 2 days remote
