RPG Analyst/Developer – Freelance (Public Services Sector)
A major organisation in the public services sector in Belgium is searching for an experienced RPG Analyst/Developer to join them on a long-term freelance mission in Brussels.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary IT team where you will design, build, test, and deliver RPG solutions on the IBM i / IBMi platform, supporting a range of ongoing and new internal initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software applications on the IBM iSeries platform, writing RPG code for data processing, reporting, and core business logic.
- Analyse business requirements and translate them into clear technical specifications aligned with stakeholder needs.
- Create, adjust, and optimise SQL queries to ensure efficient database interactions and reliable data management.
- Maintain and update existing RPG programs, including troubleshooting, performance optimisation, and implementing patches or enhancements.
- Conduct thorough functional and technical testing to ensure solutions meet expected standards and business requirements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as an RPG Developer.
- Strong experience with IBM i / iSeries environments.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (French or Dutch is a plus but not required).
