Role Overview
A confidential local authority in Wales is seeking an experienced Registration Services Manager to undertake the statutory role of Interim Superintendent Registrar on an interim basis. The postholder will provide leadership and operational oversight of registration services, ensuring statutory compliance and continuity of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Fulfil the statutory duties of Superintendent Registrar
Lead and manage Registration Services, including births, deaths, marriages, and civil partnerships
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and General Register Office requirements
Provide professional leadership and operational management of registration staff
Act as the senior professional lead for registration matters within the organisation
Working Arrangements
The role is predominantly remote; however, attendance at council offices and service locations will be required on an ad hoc basis to meet business and statutory requirements. The balance of remote and on-site working will be discussed with the successful candidate.
Candidate Profile
Demonstrable experience managing registration services within a UK local authority
Eligible and suitably qualified to act as a Superintendent Registrar
Strong working knowledge of registration legislation and statutory obligations
Proven ability to operate effectively in an interim capacity
