This organization operates in the global food industry, supplying ingredients and finished products to customers across multiple continents. The position is part of a business unit specializing in food ingredients for international markets, produced in multiple manufacturing sites and further processed at a dedicated facility in Halen.
Purpose of the Role
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the quality management system in line with BRC, HACCP, and applicable regulations
- Lead monthly site quality meetings and provide regular reporting on key quality performance indicators
- Drive corrective and preventive actions, ensuring clear ownership, follow-up, and documentation
- Plan, execute, and follow up on internal audits, customer audits, and certification audits
- Initiate and lead cross-functional improvement projects (production, maintenance, planning) focused on:
- Standardization of processes
- Improving first-time-right performance
- Increasing operational efficiency
- Enhance product quality by reducing microbiological risks, customer complaints, and non-conformities
- Manage and develop the Quality Officer, providing coaching and guidance
- Collaborate with customer-facing teams to ensure customer requirements on quality, food safety, and specifications are effectively translated into internal processes
- Implement corporate quality standards and policies, adapting them into clear and practical site procedures
Profile
- Master’s degree in Food Technology, Bioengineering, or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years of experience in quality and/or product development within the food industry
- Strong knowledge of BRC, HACCP, and relevant food safety regulations
- Hands-on experience in a production environment, with the ability to translate quality requirements into practical shop-floor actions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage teams
- Analytical, structured, and results-driven mindset
- Proactive, hands-on approach with a strong presence on the production floor
