About the Client:
Our client is a leading, growing and innovative food group who produce a wide range of savoury products using fresh ingredients, operate to IFS standards and supply to Europe and beyond.

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join the leadership team and take over one of the clients Wallonia based factories as the interim Quality Manager of that factory, supporting with group quality standardisation and harmonisation, as well as continuously adapting and optimising QC plans and ensuring the factory and shop floor follow these Quality procedures/standards, and supporting new projects/product innovation from a quality perspective.

 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Join the leadership team as one of the leading quality managers in the group, helping to advise, standardise and harmonise the quality procedures across the group.
  • Act as the Interim Quality Manager for the groups most complex factories where there is a high turnover over products produced, ingredients used, recipe changes etc.. about 10/20% rotation of products annually with a dynamic environment & dynamic portfolio of produce.
  • There are 5 production lines in the factory and due to the complexity of what is produced they move at a slower rate than those at other factories of the group.
  • Ensure quality assurance of each product is up to standards and match the product brief.
  • Adapt QC plans to new products when they come in, and constantly look to adapt and optimise QC/QA of each product and within the factory, as well as ensuring these are implemented across the shop floor using strong change management skills, following up with the team and overseeing production on the floor to ensure the Quality procedures are being followed correctly.
  • Create and amend group quality standards to be specific to the factory.
  • Oversee customer complaint management and investigation for the factory, root cause analysis investigation, plan of action and execute changes made.
  • Support projects from a quality perspective, including new product innovation and projects related to engineering/capex investment, add to the scope of the project from a quality perspective. (projects can be new product innovation, adding a new production line or as small as replacing a kettle in the factory!
  • Follow up on shop floor, helping to ensure a quality mindset in each member of the factory and up-skill your team.
  • Follow a “short interval management” mindset, performing quick and efficient 15 minute meetings with different tiers/teams involving staff and teams in all areas of the factory (operators, team leads, quality team, production team etc.. to ensure everyone is following as the should and the factory is performing as efficiently as possible.
  • Deploy quality and drive quality throughout the factory and organisation, and instil IFS and ISO protocols and ensure they’re followed.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Quality Manager experience within a food or drink factory.
  • Experience in dynamics and complex factories.
  • IFS experience & knowledge.
  • French speaking.
