Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quality Coordinator to support outage delivery and ensure high-quality standards across projects involving rotating equipment. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of quality assurance and quality control both onsite and in workshop environments. The Quality Coordinator will capture lessons learned, drive continuous improvement, and support the development of QA/QC procedures.
This position requires a proactive professional with hands-on experience in power station maintenance, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage fast-changing technical environments.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Control
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the project QA system, ensuring all technical standards are met.
- Assess and verify quality procedures from OEMs and third-party contractors, ensuring effective implementation.
- Produce and maintain project reports in collaboration with the Senior Technical Engineer.
- Develop and maintain a Project Quality Control Plan aligned with project requirements.
Performance & Improvement
- Reduce the cost of quality by minimising rework and enhancing reliability and availability post-outage.
- Ensure accurate documentation of key measurements and readings to avoid future troubleshooting delays.
- Capture lessons learned and support the integration of improvement actions.
Project Delivery
- Support project teams with technical guidance and oversight to ensure safe and compliant work execution.
- Ensure all work is delivered safely, on time, and to required quality standards.
- Monitor adherence to gated project processes.
Knowledge & Experience Required
- Significant experience in quality assurance and quality control within power station or heavy industrial maintenance.
- Demonstrable expertise in overhauling gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and related balance-of-plant equipment.
- HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline; working toward or holding membership of a relevant professional body is preferred.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail; able to react effectively to rapidly changing technical situations.
- Solid understanding of relevant Health & Safety legislation, regulations, and directives.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships; contributes positively to team culture and engagement.
