Prosecutions Lawyer

A Local Authority in the North West of England is looking for a fully qualified solicitor to come in and assist with their criminal litigation work. They have a wide mix of different matters that they need help with. This may extend to civil litigation depending on other people’s availability.

The Role 

  • Variety of prosecutions work – Trading Standards, Building Regs, Breaches, Environmental, Non-School Attendance etc.
  • Licensing work – Taxi, Liqueur etc. – committee attendance once every 2/3 months
  • Remote working, occasional court attendance needed, office attendance would be ideal
  • Potential to pick up bits of civil litigation as well
  • Initial 3 – 6 month contract – high likelihood of extension 

About You

  • Experience working for a Local Authority is ideal, but not required 
  • Experience with criminal litigation 
  • Fully qualified Solicitor, or Barrister / CILEx with litigation rights 
  • Strong case management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently in a locum capacity
  • Confident communication and stakeholder management abilities
