Our client is an established organisation delivering complex logistics and industrial construction projects. The company works with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to execute large-scale developments with a strong focus on quality, safety and planning.

Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Freelance Project Leader to support the delivery of logistics and industrial building projects in Belgium. The role covers the full project lifecycle, from preparation through execution to handover, and requires close collaboration with the Project Manager Build and both local and international stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Site Preparation

• Review and analyse technical documentation including drawings, specifications, schedules and budgets.

• Support the selection and coordination of subcontractors in collaboration with procurement.

• Assist in planning manpower, equipment and site logistics.

Execution & Site Management

• Coordinate daily on-site activities of teams and subcontractors.

• Monitor site progress and resolve technical or organisational issues.

• Lead site meetings with clients, architects, inspectors and contractors.

• Ensure compliance with quality, safety and environmental standards (HSE).

Financial & Administrative Management

• Monitor budgets, variations, progress claims and cost control.

• Support contractual and commercial follow-up of subcontractors.

• Provide regular progress reporting to the project director.

Project Handover

• Coordinate activities related to project completion and site handover.

• Follow up on approvals and close-out documentation.

• Deliver as-built documentation to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

Essential

• Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics and industrial construction projects.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction or Civil Engineering.

• Strong knowledge of construction disciplines and applicable Belgian regulations.

• Proven ability to operate independently in a freelance/contractor capacity.

Languages

• Dutch: mandatory (primary on-site working language).

• French: conversational level required (majority of the organisation is French-speaking and operating from France).

• English: a plus, but not required.

Technical Skills

• Experience with BIM, REVIT, Autodesk, MS Project, MS Office and digital construction tools.

Soft Skills

• Strong assertive leadership and stakeholder management skills.

• Hands-on, proactive and solution-oriented mindset.

• Well-organised, analytical and adaptable in dynamic site environments.

Additional Information

• Contract type: Freelance only.

• Location: Belgium – Antwerp region.

• Workload: Full-time, 100% on site.

• Start date: ASAP 

• Duration: 12 months +
