Our client is seeking an experienced Product Development Engineer to strengthen its product innovation and design capabilities. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys taking products from concept through to industrialisation and has a strong background in mechanical design and development.
Your Role
As a Product Development Engineer, you will play a key role in the end-to-end development of new products and the continuous improvement of existing ones. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the design and development of new products from concept to production
- Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings, primarily using SolidWorks
- Translate customer and market requirements into robust, manufacturable designs
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure design feasibility, cost efficiency, and quality
- Support prototyping, testing, validation, and industrialization activities
- Drive design improvements based on performance, manufacturability, and feedback from production
- Document designs and ensure compliance with relevant standards and internal processes
Your Profile
- 8–10 years of experience in product development and mechanical design
- Strong hands-on experience with SolidWorks (or similar CAD tools)
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
- Experience taking products through the full development lifecycle
- Proactive, structured, and solution-oriented mindset
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment
Languages
- Dutch is preferred
- English proficiency is required (spoken and written)
