We’re currently recruiting for a PLC Programmer who will join a machine-building company that designs and manufactures custom automated equipment for industrial customers, and will play a key role in the development of control systems for our machines, from initial concept through commissioning and customer handover.

In this role, you will work closely with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams to design, program, test, and commission PLC-based control systems. You will be responsible for developing reliable, easy-to-maintain machine logic, intuitive operator interfaces, and robust safety systems.

The ideal candidate has experience in a machine-building or OEM environment, enjoys working on custom automation projects, and is comfortable taking ownership of control system design and troubleshooting throughout the machine lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, program, and debug PLC control systems for custom-built industrial machines
  • Develop HMI interfaces for machine operation, diagnostics, and alarms
  • Integrate motion control, VFDs, servos, sensors, and industrial networks
  • Implement machine safety systems in accordance with applicable standards
  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams during machine design and build
  • Perform in-house testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting
  • Support FAT, SAT, machine installation, and startup at customer sites
  • Create and maintain control documentation, including I/O lists and manuals
  • Provide technical support and continuous improvement for existing machines

Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience
  • Experience programming PLCs in a machine-building or OEM environment
  • Proficiency with at least one PLC platform (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, Omron, or similar)
  • Experience with HMI development and industrial communication protocols
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
