Located in the port of Antwerp, the site processes around 70,000 tons of organic waste annually, producing 100% renewable electricity from biogas while transforming organic by-products into valuable soil improvers. This facility is a strong example of the circular economy in action.

As Plant Manager, you will lead the daily operations of a high-performing biomethanization facility and play a key role in ensuring operational excellence, sustainability, and continuous improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations and overall performance of the biomethanization plant.
  • Lead and coach a team of 5 direct reports, setting clear priorities and ensuring alignment across departments.
  • Drive and maintain strong safety, environmental, and quality standards across the site.
  • Manage and monitor the operational budget while optimizing plant performance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements.
  • Analyze operational challenges and develop data-driven solutions, including cost and performance analyses.
  • Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.
  • Coordinate and follow up on operational and improvement projects within the plant.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Master’s degree in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a production or industrial environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
  • Ability to inspire others and promote ownership and accountability.
  • Analytical mindset with strong interest in data, performance metrics, and operational optimization.
  • Hands-on, proactive, and highly organized.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Experience in operational leadership roles is required.
  • Strong focus on safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Knowledge of LEAN management or continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
