A highly regarded local authority in the South West is seeking a Locum Planning Solicitor to join their legal team on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planning lawyer looking for long-term, stable locum work with minimal office attendance-just once per month for committees.

Position: Locum Planning Solicitor
Location: Somerset (Remote working with attendance once per month)
Rate: Competitive (DOE, umbrella or LTD)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Ongoing, with strong potential for long-term placement
Working Pattern: Full-time or part-time considered
The Role:
You will be responsible for providing legal advice and support on a range of planning and highways matters, including:
Drafting and negotiating Section 106 Agreements
Advising on planning applications, enforcement, appeals, and inquiries
Representing the authority in planning committees and hearings as required
Working collaboratively with the council’s planning and legal teams to manage caseloads efficiently
