Job Title: Planning Manager (or Similar)
Role Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Planning Manager. This role involves supporting the planning and land development process, from the preparation of planning applications to the promotion of development sites. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, the ability to engage with stakeholders, and a thorough understanding of planning legislation and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, submit, and monitor planning applications, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
Monitor local plans and policies to identify opportunities for site promotion and development.
Conduct planning appraisals to support the Land Team in assessing potential land acquisition and development opportunities.
Represent the organization at public consultations, planning committees, pre-application meetings, and other stakeholder engagement events to promote planning projects.
Lead and coordinate project teams, including reviewing consultant fee quotes, raising purchase orders, and processing invoices in collaboration with the Accounts team.
Support the technical team in discharging planning conditions and ensure compliance with S106 agreements, monitoring triggers and notices where necessary.
Undertake regular site visits to assess planning progress and ensure compliance with planning permissions.
Skills and Attributes:
Strong understanding of planning legislation, local plans, and development management processes.
Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
Effective communication and negotiation skills for engagement with local authorities, consultants, and community stakeholders.
Attention to detail in managing applications, agreements, and technical documentation.
Proactive approach to problem-solving and delivering successful planning outcomes.
