We are working on behalf of a leading UK residential housebuilder to appoint an experienced Town Planning Manager for their operations in Leicestershire. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established regional business delivering high-quality, sustainable housing schemes.
The Role
The Town Planning Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering planning strategies across a varied land and development portfolio. You will work closely with land, technical, and commercial teams to progress sites through the planning system and support future growth.
Key Responsibilities
Manage planning applications, appeals, and negotiations with local planning authorities
Develop and implement planning strategies for land promotion and development sites
Instruct and manage external consultants and specialist advisors
Monitor national and local planning policy and advise on implications for the business
Provide clear planning advice, risk analysis, and recommendations to internal teams
Represent the company at planning committees, stakeholder meetings, and public consultations
Support land acquisition by advising on planning potential and constraints
About You
Degree qualified in Town Planning or a related discipline
MRTPI (or working towards) preferred
Proven experience within residential planning, either client-side or consultancy
Strong understanding of the UK planning system and local authority processes
Commercially aware with a pragmatic approach to planning risk
Confident communicator with strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
