The Role:
As a Town Planning Manager, you will be a key part of the development team, managing the planning and permitting process for residential projects. You will work directly with local authorities, stakeholders, and consultants to navigate the complexities of planning regulations and secure approvals for new developments.
This role offers variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to shape the planning landscape for some of the most innovative residential projects in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the planning application process for residential developments from submission to approval.
Collaborate with project teams, including architects and engineers, to ensure developments are well-planned and sustainable.
Manage engagement with local authorities, stakeholders, and statutory bodies to secure planning approvals.
Provide expert advice on planning regulations, policies, and trends to internal teams.
Prepare and submit planning documentation and support materials to ensure compliance.
Oversee external consultants and planning teams, ensuring quality and timely delivery of work.
Proactively address planning challenges to keep projects on track.
About You:
We are looking for an experienced Town Planning professional with the following qualifications and skills:
A degree in Town Planning or a related field (RTPI accreditation is desirable).
Solid knowledge of planning regulations and proven experience working within the UK planning system.
Experience in managing planning applications and residential development projects from start to finish.
Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders, local authorities, and internal teams.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to juggle multiple projects.
Experience managing external consultants and service providers to deliver successful outcomes.
