Locum Planning Lawyer
South West Local Authority
Initial 3–6 Month Contract | Remote Working

Vivid Resourcing are currently working with a local authority in the South West who are seeking an experienced Locum Planning Lawyer to join their legal team on an interim basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to step into a well-established council, supporting a busy planning function with a manageable and interesting caseload.

Responsibilities:

  • Advising officers and members on a broad range of planning law matters

  • Drafting, negotiating and completing Section 106 agreements

  • Providing advice on planning applications, enforcement, appeals and highways-related matters

  • Managing a full caseload with minimal supervision

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive in England & Wales

  • Proven experience handling planning law matters within a local authority

  • Comfortable working autonomously in a locum capacity

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Contract Details:

  • Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience)

  • Remote working available

  • Initial 3–6 month contract with likelihood of extension

  • Flexible start date
