We are currently partnering with a well-regarded local authority in the West Midlands that is seeking an experienced Planning & Highways Solicitor to join their legal team on a locum basis.
Key Details:
Office Attendance: Fully remote, with attendance required for committee meetings
Contract Length: Initial 3–6 month contract
Rate: Dependent on Experience (DOE)
Hours: Full-time
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a varied caseload of planning and highways matters, including planning agreements, enforcement, appeals, highways agreements, and advisory work
- Providing clear, practical, and commercially aware legal advice to internal stakeholders, including planning officers, highways teams, and senior managemen
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating Section 106 and Section 38/278 agreements
- Representing the authority at planning committees, hearings, and inquiries as required
