Town Planner / Senior Planner

📍 Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands
We are working with a growing and well-established planning consultancy based in Sutton Coldfield, providing expert planning advice across the residential and commercial sectors. Due to continued success and an expanding workload, our client are looking to appoint a Town Planner or Senior Planner to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated planner to assist with and lead a diverse range of planning applications, working closely with clients, local authorities, and multidisciplinary teams.
The Role
Depending on experience, you will:
Prepare, submit and manage residential and commercial planning applications
Lead planning projects from inception through to determination
Undertake site appraisals, planning strategies and feasibility advice
Draft high-quality planning statements, design and access statements, and supporting reports
Liaise with local planning authorities, consultants, stakeholders and clients
Support and mentor junior team members (Senior Planner level)
Represent clients at meetings, negotiations and, where appropriate, appeals
About You
Degree qualified in Town Planning or a related discipline
Working towards or holding MRTPI status (essential for Senior Planner, desirable for Town Planner)
Proven experience within a private sector planning consultancy or local authority
Strong knowledge of the UK planning system, particularly residential and commercial development
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Organised, commercially aware and client-focused
Full UK driving licence preferred
