An established and growing private planning consultancy based in Gatwick is seeking an experienced Senior Town Planner to join its dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded and motivated planning professional to play a key role in delivering high-quality planning advice across a diverse portfolio of projects.
The Role
As a Senior Town Planner, you will:
Lead and manage a varied caseload of planning applications and appeals
Provide clear, strategic planning advice to a broad client base
Prepare planning statements, site appraisals, and supporting documentation
Manage client relationships and act as a key point of contact
Liaise with local authorities, stakeholders, and consultants
Support and mentor junior team members
Contribute to business development and company growth initiatives
Projects span residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments, offering exposure to a wide range of planning matters.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
MRTPI qualification (or working towards)
A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in either private consultancy or local authority
Strong working knowledge of the UK planning system
Excellent report writing and communication skills
Proven experience managing projects independently
Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach
A proactive and collaborative mindset
