I am currently working on behalf of a well-established and growing planning consultancy based in Milton Keynes who are looking to appoint a Town Planner to join their expanding team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Planner (MRTPI or working towards) who is looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive, commercially focused consultancy environment.
The Company
My client is a respected independent planning consultancy with a strong reputation across the South East and Midlands. They act for a diverse client base including developers, land promoters, commercial operators, and private clients, delivering strategic advice and managing planning applications across residential, commercial, and mixed-use schemes.
Due to continued growth and a healthy project pipeline, they are now seeking an ambitious Town Planner to join the team.
The Role
You will be involved in projects from early feasibility stages through to determination and appeal, working closely with senior colleagues and directly with clients.
Responsibilities will include:
Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals
Producing planning statements, site appraisals, and supporting documentation
Providing clear and commercially sound planning advice
Liaising with local planning authorities and key stakeholders
Monitoring local plans and planning policy updates
Attending client meetings and representing the consultancy where required
The Ideal Candidate
RTPI-accredited degree in Town Planning or related field
MRTPI qualified or actively working towards chartership
Experience within a consultancy or local authority environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Commercial awareness and ability to manage competing deadlines
Full UK driving licence
Candidates with experience managing applications independently and knowledge of the Buckinghamshire and surrounding planning landscape will be particularly attractive.
