The Role
We are seeking a Town Planner to join a growing Manchester-based planning team. The role will involve working on a diverse portfolio of projects across residential, commercial, mixed-use, and specialist sectors throughout Greater Manchester and the wider North West. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality planning advice and successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing, submitting, and managing planning applications, appeals, and supporting documentation
- Providing clear, commercially focused planning advice to clients
- Undertaking planning appraisals, site assessments, and policy research
- Liaising with local planning authorities, statutory consultees, and other key stakeholders
- Assisting with development promotion strategies and planning policy representations
- Supporting senior team members on complex projects
- Keeping up to date with changes in planning legislation, policy, and best practice
About You
- Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
- MRTPI qualified or working towards chartership (depending on level)
- Experience in a consultancy, local authority, or similar planning environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Commercially aware with a client-focused approach
- Well organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative team
