Job: Pest Control Technician
Duration: 6‑month contract
Notice Period: One week (either side)
Working Arrangement: Remote working from a company van
Pay Rate: £20 per hour
Days: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:15 PM (45‑minute unpaid lunch)
Provided: Uniform, pest control equipment, PPE, and company van
Qualification: Level 2 BPCA Pest Management qualification or equivalent
Role Overview
This forward thinking council in the North West is seeking an experienced Pest Control Technician to join their busy Pest Control team on a contract basis. The role involves carrying out pest control treatments and inspections across a wide range of sites, working independently from a company‑provided van.
You will be responsible for delivering a professional, customer‑focused service, ensuring all works are carried out safely, effectively and in line with current legislation and council policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out pest control inspections, treatments and prevention works across residential, commercial and public sector sites
- Identify pest species and determine appropriate treatment methods
- Use pesticides and control measures safely and in accordance with regulations
- Complete service reports, treatment records and related documentation accurately
- Provide advice and guidance to customers on pest prevention and control
- Work independently, managing daily workloads and appointments effectively
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and environmental procedures
Requirements (Qualifications / Skills & Experience)
- Proven experience working as a Pest Control Technician
- Strong knowledge of pest management techniques and safe use of pesticides
- Ability to work autonomously and manage workloads efficiently
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Confident using vehicles, handheld devices and completing documentation
Essential
- Level 2 BPCA Pest Management qualification or equivalent
- Full UK driving licence
- Full Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable
- Previous experience working within a local authority or public sector environment
- Experience working across a high‑volume, urban setting
